TEAM supports young people living with HIV
The TEAM clinic offers a range of services specifically for young people living with HIV. It sees young people from the age of 13 until they are ready to move on to an adult clinic. TEAM supports young people to transition from child or other services to our clinic. This includes young people who have been living with HIV for their whole life or those who have been recently diagnosed.
TEAM clinic offers care tailored to the individual – and their medical, sexual, psychological and social needs are regularly assessed. The clinic ethos is to support young people to fulfil their potential, encourage autonomy and live positively with the virus.
TEAM offers a friendly and relaxed environment for young people and members of the team are on-hand to answer any questions or advise on any difficulties they may be experiencing. TEAM is confidential.
All information is kept confidential and only shared between the patient and the team members.
The clinic team includes doctors, a specialist nurse, health advisers and a clinical psychologist – who are all experienced in working with young people. TEAM patients can also access the Bloomsbury Peer Support Workers who are living with HIV themselves. They can advise on non-medical issues – the Law, employment, education, benefits, travel – and run courses including a Beyond Diagnosis Course.
TEAM clinic is held every second Tuesday from 3pm to 6.30pm. Young people and parents or carers are welcome to visit before registering. To book an appointment, or for further information and advice, please contact:
