Beyond Diagnosis Course

The Beyond Diagnosis Course is for anyone living with HIV, no matter how long ago their diagnosis. Perhaps you are recently diagnosed or maybe you have been living with HIV for thirty years or more. Regardless, if you feel that your diagnosis is holding you back in any way, this is the course for you.

Entirely facilitated by people who are also living with HIV, the course is designed to help people gain a better understanding about their condition, and about how up-to-date medicine and drugs mean it is no longer the life-limiting condition it once was.

No other health condition carries the same level of stigma, prejudice, blame, and fear as HIV, and we want to help you breakdown all the myths and stereotypes surrounding what is now a manageable, lifelong condition.

Held over three consecutive Saturdays, the BDC covers topics such as:

  • HIV transmission routes
  • The science behind the medicine
  • HIV and the law
  • Stigma, and how to break through it
  • Well-being and ways to live well with HIV

The course is completely free to attend, although we do require a commitment to attend all three sessions if you are going to sign up.

The Bloomsbury Network runs the course four times a year, and has helped many hundreds of people to live happier and healthier lives over the past twenty years.

There are no charges: the course is completely free, and we'll even buy you a pub lunch on the three Saturdays, so you don't have to worry about bringing anything to eat. Snacks and drinks are also provided.

If you are interested in attending, check the calendar on the Events Page on this website to see the next available dates, and then contact the Peer Support team at the Bloomsbury Clinic, by emailing cnwl.MMC-HIV-PeerSupport@nhs.net, and one of the team will get back to you with more information.

Don't let living with HIV be responsible for holding you back. Live your life to the fullest.

I was so paranoid about someone finding out about my HIV status. I feel much more confident now, after taking the course.

This course completely changed how I view my HIV, and meeting other people with the same condition showed me I was not alone.
