The Bloomsbury Clinic is not only one of the best places of HIV care you could hope to find, it is also one of the UK’s major HIV research centres. At any time, the research team are involved in many projects regarding living with HIV, always searching for the best ways to support people living with HIV, and the many issues that surround it. The research department is also involved with many trials, including looking for a vaccine against the virus, and even exploring potential cure options.
Support & Advice
The Bloomsbury Clinic is staffed by a dedicated team of Doctors, Nurses, Healthcare Technicians, Health Advisers, Psychologists and the Peer Support team. The Peer Support team—who are living with HIV themselves—use their own lived experience of HIV to help others navigate their own recovery journeys. They are also able to signpost and refer service users to other external support providers.
The Bloomsbury Clinic also manages the care of Hepatitis B and C patients diagnosed in our Sexual Health services, and has the UK’s first Hepatitis B peer support worker, who utilizes her own recovery journey to help patients move forward following a diagnosis of Hepatitis B.
The clinic also has close working relationships/partnerships with specialists at the University College London Hospital (UCLH), the University College London Medical School, The Hospital of Neurology and Neuroscience, The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, The Royal Free and Whittington Hospitals.
